ABOUT US

We are an old highland family that have been successfully dealing with local tourism for two generations now. First guests in our house appeared in 1960. The Tatra Mountains, and as a matter of fact the Carpathians, are our whole life. We work here, and we rest here. We live between two cultures – the Polish and the Hungarian one, and our roads run from Cracow to Budapest, crossing in home Murzasichle. Our highland family comes from the Carpathian Vlachs, thus and for us, in our times, these cultural and emotional ties are the natural course of events.

We run a Polish and Hungarian year-long centre that is a complex of two facilities: a villa with standard rooms, family rooms – two-level with the mezzanine – and studio rooms and an individual house for exclusive use to which a recreational part is added with an outdoor Jacuzzi with massage and hot water as well as a big garden, with (flowers, trees) garden furniture, a playground for children, football/volleyball/badminton pitches and a place for bonfires, and grill. Being located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, clean air and superb surroundings is an ideal place to rest. Family atmosphere, tasty cooking, an excellent location of the facilities and a combination of three cultures are the strengths of our place.

Willa KARPATIA & Bajeczny Domek GIEWONT

Our facilities are the essence of comfort, style and luxury, styled in the highland manner. Both of our houses are made in full from solid wood, built from spruce logs from nearby forest, which unfortunately are getting smaller and smaller in our region. Interiors are in full finished in wood, furniture and door woodwork are based on old highland patterns, rich in splendid Witkiewicz Style details, as hand-sculpted sosrębs and rysie.

We serve both traditional Polish cuisine dishes, and typically highlander and Hungarian ones. Products for their preparation like meat, milk, cheeses and eggs come from local farmers, while vegetables are delivered to us by fruit farmers from Łącko.

The facilities are located away from the centre, with no hustle and bustle or crowd. A splendid view of the Tatra Mountains, from Belianske Tatras, through Western Tatras, to High Tatras, stretches out from each room. Nearby, forest and a creek, routes for strollers, and running, cycling enthusiasts can be found. Murzasichle is the last town on the border of the Tatra National Park. We have clean water straight from the mountains and clean mountain air.

At the same time our facilities are located close to main tourist attractions (Morskie Oko, Słowacja – a cable car to the Lomnicky Stit, Słowacki Raj, Stary Smokovec, and others, Zakopane – Krupówki, Wielka Krokiew Ski Jump, Witkiewicz Trail – Koliba villa, Jedla villa – and Witkacy Theatre), and to main communication routes. Our house is located 1 km from Zakopane (8 kilometres from Krupówki) and 10 km from Białka Tatrzańska. Guests who rest here can use private minibuses, taxi-minibuses that leave the bus stop 30 m away from the centre. We have 300 m to the National Park, one kilometre to the nearest trail to Hala Gąsienicowa, so we can get to the Murowaniec hostel in 2.5 hours, and from there we can hit any trail to higher parts of the mountains. One can reach the Pieniny Mountains in one hour and, following on from this, visit castles in Czorsztyn and Niedzica, canoe the gorge of the Dunajec River and reach Trzy Korony, Sokolnica or come to Nowy Targ for local handicraft products and delicacies. Neither is it far to the Slovakia border from us (12 km), so one can visit Stary Smokovec or get a cable car to the Lomnicky Stit, see the Strsbke Pleso or Popradske Pleso, or take one of many routes of the Slovak Paradise, or visit caves.

Half a kilometre from Willa Karpatia, there is a year-long indoor swimming pool, and at a distance of 300 m – a well-stocked shop. One can also find a lot of restaurants with regional cuisine and cafes, and pizza places. Not far, a water park and thermal pools with water with medicinal and relaxation properties are located (Terma Bukowina – 5 km, Białka – 12 km and Gorący Potok – 15 km). For the enthusiasts for winter sports – lit ski lifts are located near our facility (50 m to the Murzasichle ski station, one kilometre to the U Hajduka station, then at a distance of 5 km Małe Ciche and Stoki pod Nosalem stations, further at a distance of 7 km ski lifts in Bukowina Tatrzanska, there is approx. 14 km to a ski lift in Białka).
